I got SBSBIOSLock error the other day when I tried to install HP branded Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation on HP Proliant ML110G6. I was pretty annoyed with the error and lost quite bit of a time to resolve it.
HP Proliant ML110G6 can be great choice for small businesses, but there are few annoyances that come with it.
Problem:
My HP Proliant ML 110 G6 came with HP Branded Windows Server 2008 R2 and integrated B110 RAID controller.
First I went to BIOS and changed SATA emulation settings from AHCI to RAID mode, and then I started HP branded Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation setup.
Soon after setup started I got this error – SBSBIOSLock.
Solution:
There are two ways to solve this.
First – go to the BIOS settings and change back to AHCI from RAID mode (but I want RAID so this is not an option)
Second – get external USB DVD drive and install HP branded Windows Server 2008 R2 from it. Believe it or not, this works and there is no SBSBIOSLock error when you start installation from external USB DVD drive.
B110 RAID controller Windows Server 2008 x64 driver:
There is just one more issue. Drivers for B110 RAID controller that Windows Server 2008 R2 will request during setup.
I lost some time to find them, since they weren`t on HP support site for ML 110 G6. They were listed, but none of them fit my installation.
So, If you are looking for Windows Server 2008 R2 B110 RAID controller driver, here it is -> LINK.
